Melbourne’s Filipino legends of the grill are coming to the Firehouse for one day only.
On Sunday July 12, Shōbōsho welcomes Serai, one of Melbourne’s most exciting restaurants, for a special lunch event built around fire, Filipino flavour, Japanese technique and the very good things that happen when two grill-led kitchens come together.
Led by Chefs Ross Magnaye and Shane Stafford, Serai has built a reputation for modern Filipino cooking with serious woodfired energy. Their food is bold, generous and deeply personal, shaped by Filipino tradition, Australian produce and the kind of smoke, char and spice that makes a dish feel alive.
For this event, Ross Magnaye joins the Shōbōsho kitchen for a menu that feels right at home over our coals. Think wagyu fat, pinakurat, calamansi, chicharon, bone marrow, roasted koji, coconut, caviar and fire in many forms. It's Filipino grill culture through the lens of Serai, served alongside big Shōbōsho flavours and technique that has helped shape our Firehouse into the flavour powerhouse that it is today.
Two sittings are available: 12pm and 2:30pm.
Tickets are $135 per person.
This is a one day only event with limited seats available.
